Since its creation, the CIS Group has been committed to sustainable development by supporting the local populations and economies of the countries in which it operates, and in particular by supporting the education of young children.

In Burkina Faso, in partnership with its client, a Canadian mining company, our teams met with the students and teaching staff of the DANGOUNA elementary school.

This initiative is part of our support to the surrounding populations for education. Our Burkinabe subsidiary sponsors 118 students in order to encourage literacy and support the goodwill of teachers in the most remote areas of Burkina Faso. Awards for excellence and encouragement, distribution of school kits, celebration of patronal feasts and support for the village school canteen are carried out throughout the school year.

Our CSS subsidiary in the DRC also made a donation to the NURU elementary school in the rural commune of Fungurume, for 480 pupils: more than 300 backpacks, 1500 notebooks, 400 ballpoint pens and 90 umbrellas were distributed to the elementary school pupils. This donation helps promote education in the DRC. CSS works closely with its client, one of the largest copper and cobalt producers in the Democratic Republic of Congo, on the development of rural communities near the mining site.

CIS participates in many community support efforts through sponsorships and other means to help the most disadvantaged, and also supports orphanages in Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo and Niger.
