Operational excellence of CIS for the health and well-being of its residents.

On the occasion of "World Pulses Day", CIS has launched an awareness campaign to inform about the benefits linked to the consumption of pulses.

The FAO gave 6 recommendation to know about pulses:

  1. Pulses contain no cholesterol and can contribute to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
  2. Pulses are a good source of iron.
  3. Pulses are high in potassium, which supports heart health, digestion and muscle function.
  4. Pulses are an excellent source of folate which is key for the nervous system and important during pregnancy.
  5. Pulses are low glycaemic index foods and help to stabilize blood sugar and insulin levels.
  6. Pulses are high in fibre, which helps support digestive health.
