A first step towards major construction projects on the Dahlak Islands in Eritrea.

CIS signs a huge project on one of the main islands of the Dahlak Archipelago, off the coast of Eritrea.

A contract signed with QDVC, a joint venture between a Qatari state-owned company and Vinci Construction, for the construction of a vast hotel complex.

This large-scale project includes the construction of five VIP villas, 52 luxury bungalows and a large prestige hotel, as well as all the infrastructure required for the smooth running of this new seaside resort.

A project made all the more ambitious by the fact that, originally, the island was just a piece of rock lost in the Red Sea.

In this paradise where the sun burns and the turquoise sea washes up, “there’s nothing and everything has to be done. CIS was therefore commissioned to provide its expertise.

“We’re supplying everything the village needs. And as there’s nothing around, we produce the water, the energy and sort the waste. We take care of all maintenance operations and ensure environmental protection,” sums up Kamel Boukhentache, in charge of Facilities at CIS.

This technical challenge, which began in 2013, has become a great adventure and a benchmark.
