From farm to table
The products from these local agricultural initiatives adds variety to meals served to residents and contributes to reducing the carbon footprint from transport.
With this programme, we are careful to manage water resources responsibly.
We promote the sustainable and intelligent use of this vital resource at each remote site. In this way, a farm-to-table approach strengthens the local economy.
Tasty and nutritious
The freshness of the produce we grow is at the heart of this sustainable approach, driven by our agricultural services.
Grown without chemical inputs and using compost made from our plant waste as fertiliser, fruit and vegetables are harvested on site by our teams.
The produce is delivered straight to the kitchen, optimising both taste and nutrition.
growing a participatory vegetable garden
In 2022, a participatory vegetable garden was created in Burkina Faso as a concrete example of the agricultural initiative services we provide. Spanning two hectares, the garden features an efficient, economical watering system to grow fruit, vegetables and condiments adapted to the region’s climate and soil.
Crops include aubergines, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, watermelons, melons, okra, spinach, lettuce, borage, sorrel, parsley, celery, coriander, basil, carrots, courgettes, cucumbers and corn. This production covers a portion of the food needs of several hundred residents.
