International Children’s Day 2026: taking action to support children
Published on 16/06/2026
International Children’s Day 2026 is an opportunity to reaffirm a simple truth: investing in children means investing in the future. In many countries, this day highlights children’s essential needs in terms of protection, education, health and well-being.
For CIS Group, a company operating worldwide in remote environments and in direct contact with local realities, this date also represents an opportunity to take meaningful action through simple, practical initiatives tailored to communities. It is in this spirit that CIS Group anchors its commitment as close to the field as possible.
A day dedicated to children, their well-being and their future
International Children’s Day is celebrated in many countries as a time to raise awareness and mobilise around children’s rights. It serves as a reminder that every child should be able to grow up in a safe environment, have access to education and benefit from good living conditions. UNICEF highlights that, globally, millions of children remain exposed to poverty, unequal access to schooling and unmet essential needs.
In this context, local initiatives are especially important. A community-based action, when well designed and well executed, can generate an immediate and visible impact. This is particularly true in remote areas, where companies such as CIS Group can play a positive role alongside local authorities, schools and associations.
Mongolia: more than 300 children gathered in Durvuljin
On 1 June, Gobi Remote Services, CIS Group’s entity in Mongolia, supported the celebration of International Day for the Protection of Children’s Rights at the Cultural Centre of Durvuljin district, in Zavkhan province. On this occasion, more than 300 children took part in a festive event organised with local stakeholders. To mark the day, the catering teams prepared a buffet with ice cream, fresh fruit and pastries, along with a freshly made cotton candy stand.
This initiative was carried out in close collaboration with a specialist from the Durvuljin Agency for Child and Family Development and Protection, as well as with the Public Relations Manager of Bayan Airag Exploration. The local administration also sent an official letter of appreciation in recognition of the company’s social responsibility commitment.
CIS Group: acting for children, as close as possible to local needs
Actions in support of children are all the more valuable when they address needs identified locally. In remote areas, expectations and needs may vary from one country to another. Within CIS Group, our commitment to children goes beyond an annual celebration. In every country where we operate, we carry out or support concrete initiatives for children throughout the year, including:
- support for orphanages;
- school sponsorship;
- donations of school supplies;
- support for local initiatives benefiting children;
- participation in solidarity projects led by local communities; and more.
