Back to Pink October 2026: prevention and awareness around breast cancer

Published on 29/10/2026

Kazakhstan

Each year, Pink October highlights the importance of prevention and early detection in the fight against breast cancer, which remains the most common cancer among women worldwide. According to GLOBOCAN data from the International Agency for Research on Cancer, relayed by the Cancer and Environment Observatory, nearly 2.3 million new cases are diagnosed every year, accounting for around 12% of all new cancer cases worldwide. In 2025, more than 6,225 women were working within the Group, making an essential contribution to the success of its operations.

In 2026, CIS Group mobilized for Pink October both at headquarters and across its subsidiaries. Through initiatives carried out in Africa, South America and Central Asia, the Group reaffirmed its commitment to health, well-being and prevention.

Pink October 2026: an international mobilization driven by the countries

As part of Pink October 2026, CIS Group teams rolled out several awareness initiatives tailored to the local realities of each country. Beyond the message itself, these initiatives helped foster meaningful dialogue around breast cancer prevention and the importance of making time for one’s health.

In Guinea, a day dedicated to prevention was organized at an operational site. It began with a doctor’s presentation, followed by a demonstration of self-examination techniques to help participants identify any unusual changes. The day continued with sports activities, a Zumba session and informal discussions over a shared meal.

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, several initiatives were carried out both for employees and within a local community. A first awareness session reminded teams of the importance of prevention, screening tests and adopting good health practices. Teams also extended the reach of Pink October beyond the company through another session held in a school in the municipality of Fungurummé, in the presence of a doctor, in order to raise students’ awareness of healthy habits and the importance of prevention from an early age.

Brazil

In Brazil, an awareness session was also organized for employees to reinforce the campaign’s key messages, particularly the importance of information, self-awareness and early detection. In a professional environment where work rhythms can be demanding, it is essential to establish lasting prevention habits.

In Kazakhstan, teams took part in a breast cancer awareness session focused on the importance of early detection. A doctor was invited to meet with female employees at an operational site to discuss the risks associated with the disease and the importance of making time for personal health in daily life.

In Ivory Coast, an awareness session was held in the offices, bringing together several employees to discuss various topics related to the fight against breast cancer, including the importance of early detection and regular medical follow-up, the main risk factors and warning signs, as well as everyone’s role in sharing prevention messages with those around them. The session also served as a reminder that prevention and awareness concern both women and men.

At headquarters, Pink October also provided an opportunity for discussion and awareness during an afternoon gathering with employees.

This issue is even more significant in remote environments, where access to medical information or certain screening pathways may be more limited. Raising awareness means helping everyone better understand warning signs, recognize the value of early detection, and take their health into account within the pace of everyday work.

People at the heart of its commitments

Beyond the initiatives carried out as part of Pink October, CIS places people at the center of all its activities. Every day, the Group provides food services and accommodation to thousands of men and women around the world, often in isolated and demanding environments. This mission requires constant attention to living conditions, well-being and the health of everyone involved.

From this perspective, the Group’s commitment is part of a broader approach to quality of life on site. As a specialist in remote site management, CIS works to provide safe and suitable environments where the services delivered every day also help preserve the balance and well-being of employees and residents. This focus on people is a core component of its service model and of its responsibility toward its teams, clients and surrounding communities.
